Founder of Heart of Ruth Mission
Rebecca Dallaire founded Heart of Ruth Mission in 2012. She is a 28 year old Registered Practical Nurse at Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare in Bracebridge. Rebecca was born and raised in northern Ontario where she was an avid volunteer. Rebecca spent her summers volunteering as a cabin leader and lifeguard at Dorion Bible Camp. At camp was where her passion for helping others began. In 2012 Rebecca went to Kenya for the first time and saw a need in the community of Gede; she decided to team together with the girls to improve the lives of the children living at Rainbow House Children’s Home through self-sustainability projects and education opportunities. She has been to Kenya 5 times, totaling 1 year spent in the community. Rebecca also lead a team of 13 volunteers to Kenya in November 2016 to assist in self-sustainable projects and register the children for the 2017 year of school!

Kristi began her education at Cambrian College. It was there she attained a passion for teaching and learning. She went on to continue her education at St. Lawrence College where she graduated from the Child and Youth Worker program. It was this program that brought her to Kenya for the first time in 2012. When Kristi returned home from her first volunteer trip to Kenya, she immediately informed Rebecca that she was eager to get back to Kenya and continue doing all she could do to help. Three months later, the two girls were back. She has continued to inspire others to come up with innovative strategies for our self-sustainability projects since 2012. Kristi was nominated to win the Premiere of Ontario’s Award for the work she has done though Heart of Ruth.
